Our Life as Infinite Beings in a Finite World

We are Infinite beings on a mortal journey in a finite world. Our life and time are limited here and yet it’s so easy and altogether common to lose sight of this truth and take it for granted. Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, once said, “I believe that every human has a finite amount of heartbeats. I don’t intend to waste any of mine.” HUBBLE 3D Years ago when my family and I were down in Southern California on a trip we stopped by the California Science center there in Los Angeles. We went to see the Endeavor exhibit that had just opened and while we were there we bought tickets to the IMAX to see Hubble 3D. Amazing. Just blew me away. It always astounds me when I see images that the Hubble telescope has captured so an entire film directed towards it and the intricate process to get it fixed and upgraded was really mind blowing. If you ever need a dose of reality I’m going to suggest watching that. It makes you realize just how small we are – how small our earth is in the vastness of the universe and if our earth is that small…how much smaller are we as individuals then? Uchtdorf is when he said this: “While we may look at the vast expanse of the universe and [ask], ‘What is man in comparison to the glory of creation?’ God Himself said we are the reason He created the universe!
